2014 Completed Projects
2014 was a busy construction season for the NDDOT Williston District. New bypasses and truck reliever routes were built in Williston, Alexander, Watford City and New Town and US 85 was expanded to four lanes from Watford City to north of Alexander. Work will continue on US 85 in 2015 and will include the beginning of construction of a new Lewis and Clark Bridge.
In addition to new bypasses, several blocks of Main Street in Williston were reconstructed last year as well as parts of 1804 and US 2 from Ray to Stanley. The Williston 18th Street project neared completion as the new US 2 overpass was constructed, making way for an underpass on 18th Street, which will include pedestrian walkways, landscaping, lighting and other improvements once completed.
NDDOT has worked hard with local communities to provide roadway improvements and new bypasses and truck reliever routes to keep pace with North Dakota’s progress. More information about these projects is available throughout the website.
