NDDOT Williston District Construction Projects
The Williston District will be busy again during the 2016 construction season. Several projects that began in 2015, including the Lewis and Clark Bridge project, will be completed in 2016. The carryover projects as well as new projects include:
Zone 1 Projects (Northwest of Williston)
- Chip seal coat on ND 42 from west of the junction of ND 5 to the state line. 6.2 miles
- Chip seal coat on ND 5 from east of the junction of US 85 to Crosby. 13.8 miles
- Paving on ND 5 from the junction of ND 42 in Crosby to Noonan. 14.3 miles
- US 85 north of Williston (carryover project)
- Paving on ND 42 from the junction of ND 5 from Crosby south to junction of ND 50. 23 miles.
Zone 2 Projects (Williston and surrounding local area)
- Widening, paving, concrete overlay and turn lanes from ND 58 near Fairview from the junction of ND 200 north to the junction of ND 1804. 2 year project. 9.7 miles.
- Intersection improvements at the intersection of US 2 and 42nd Street in Williston. .4 miles
- Intersection improvements at the intersection of US 2 and 9th Avenue W in Williston. .9 miles.
- Lewis and Clark Bridge from four miles south on US 85 to Williston. Completion 2016 (carryover project).
- Wildlife crossing project south of the Lewis and Clark Bridge on US 85.
- Slurry seal on US 85B from the junction of US 85 south of Alexander to the junction of US 85 north of Alexander. 2.9 miles.
- Paving, widening, grading and turn lanes on ND 200 from the Yellowstone Bridge near Fairview to the junction of US 85. 14.2 miles.
- Paving on ND 68 from the state line east to the junction of US 85. 28 miles.
Zone 3 Projects (Watford City and surrounding areas)
- Turn lanes and lighting on US 85 from south of the junction of ND 23 to 3 miles south of the junction of US 2.
- Slurry seal on US 85 from 7.5 miles north of Grassy Butte to the north end of the Long X Bridge. 6.3 miles.
- Widening, paving, turn lanes, lighting and signals on US 85 from the junction of ND 23 to the junction of ND 23A.
- ND 23 from 7th Street in Watford City to 1 miles east of the junction of 1806 (including the Cherry Creek Bridge – carryover project).
- Widening, paving on ND 23 from Johnson’s Corner north to near the junction of ND 22. (carryover project)
- Chip seal coast on ND 73 from Johnson’s Corner (23/73) east to the junction of ND 22. 11.3 miles.
- Grading, paving and roundabout at the intersection of ND 23 and County Road 10 near Keene. Completion 2016. .7 miles.
- Chip seal coat on ND 1806 from the junction of ND 23 to Charlson. 8.2 miles.
Zone 4 Projects (Stanley/Tioga/New Town)
- Slurry seal on US 2 on the eastbound lanes from Ray to Tioga. 10 miles.
- Continuation of ND 40 project from US 2 to 67th Avenue in Tioga (carryover project)
- Chip seal coat on ND 8 from 4 miles north of Stanley to south of the junction of ND 50.
- Slurry seal on ND 8 from ND 23 to 4th Street SE in Stanley. 25.4 miles.
Other projects:
- Williston entrance signs west of Williston and four mile corner
- Slide repair on US 2 in White Earth Valley
The NDDOT Williston District is working hard to continue to improve and enhance roadways throughout the region, creating better, safer travel. Please continue to obey traffic signs and posted speed limits as we continue to work on many projects this year.
